The new Brewster Community Network (BCN) has scheduled a series of public forums at the Brewster Ladies Library to bring together citizens, town officials, and other stakeholders for information exchange and open discussion of issues of interest to local residents, both year round and part time.
The first 2016 forum, “Medical Marijuana in Brewster,” will be held on Saturday, March 12, from 9:30 – 11:00 am. It will feature a presentation from The Haven Center regarding its proposed dispensary on Route 6A and proposed growing operation on Route 137. In addition, an invited panel will address permitting and other local considerations.
On Saturday, April 16, from 9:30 to 11:00 am, BCN participants will coordinate with town officials to deliver a user-friendly “Town Planning & Construction Update” addressing roads, the coast, and other important issues. A “Candidate Forum” addressing Select Board, Town Moderator, and other competitive races is scheduled for Thursday, May 5, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.
The BCN brings together “Brewster residents dedicated to sharing our resources, information, and contacts so that, in collaboration with town officials and the greater community, we are better able to maintain the character of our town and quality of our lives.”
All events are free and open to the public. To join the BCN mailing list, suggest topics for future forums, and otherwise get involved, send email to brewstercommunitynetwork@gmail.com.”
