Brewster Community Network (BCN) is hosting a Candidate Forum on Thursday, May 4, starting at 6:30 pm, at Brewster Ladies’ Library and via Zoom. The forum will include three sessions, giving candidates in each of the competitive races on this year’s ballot an opportunity to make their case … and Brewster voters the chance to ask questions.

Attendees at the library will be able to submit questions on index cards. Zoom attendees will be able to submit questions via chat. Questions also can be submitted in advance via email to questions@brewstercommunitynetwork.org. The deadline for submission of questions is 3 pm on May 4.

The BCN Steering Team has asked candidates to deliver opening statements that answer the question “Why are you running?” and also address a key issue. Here are the candidates and their targeted questions:

Select Board – Carol Marie Anderson, Ned Chatelain and Laurel Labdon.
How are you going to ensure that the needs of Brewster residents are met while managing the recent 500% increase in the town’s debt load?Board of Health – Carol Marie Anderson, Abigail Archer,  John Stewart Keith and Lorena Lyon.
Whom do you think is responsible for absorbing the cost of pollution control measures to save and protect our ponds, and what role should regulation play?Recreation Commission – Peter Amadeo, Roland Bassett Jr, Robert Dugas, Christopher Ellis, and Louise Vivona-Miller.
What’s your vision for the Sea Camps properties, on the spectrum from “residents only” to revenue-producing operation open to the public? Hope to see you at Town Meeting on May 1, then at the BCN Candidate Forum on May 4.
The forum will be videotaped for on-demand viewing if you are unable to attend.
