Brewster Community Network is sponsoring an April 18 forum from 630-8 pm at the Brewster Ladies’ Library focusing on notable articles to be considered at the May 6 Town Meetings. Citizens are encouraged to attend, ask questions, and present concerns to other voters.
Select Board Chair Cindy Bingham will help present the town’s overall budget picture and provide rationale for proposed funding requests – especially the override to support additional staff positions – while department heads will be on hand to address specific funding requests.
Additionally, Moderator Charlie Sumner will offer perspective on the proposed zoning bylaw to ban retail marijuana, focusing on the “rules of the road” – how and when the bylaw will be considered, how citizens can participate, and motions that may be advanced.
And finally, the citizens’ petition calling for a change in the state seal of Massachusetts will be presented by co-petitioner Margaret Rice-Mohr, who will place legacy imagery in modern context.
