Following on a well-attended February 10 screening of the documentary “One Big Home,” Brewster Community Network (BCN) is hosting a Forum (postponed from Feb 12) to discuss the proliferation of increasingly large seasonal homes in Brewster, especially on coastal sites and in neighborhoods north of Route 6A. This event will be held in the Brewster Ladies’ Library Auditorium with free admission.
The forum, beginning at 6:30 pm on February 26, will feature a presentation by Anne Greenbaum, member of the citizens’ group OneTruro, and Steve Sollog, chair of the Truro Planning Board. They will discuss community-based efforts to develop and pass bylaws restricting the size of homes both within and outside of the Cape Cod National Seashore in Truro. A follow-on panel discussion and audience Q&A will examine what’s currently allowed in Brewster, as well as explore the question, “How big is too big?” Invited panelists include Brewster town planner Ryan Bennett and local realtor Ned Chatelain of Chatelain Real Estate.
