July 19, 2018 @ 18:00

The Brewster Coastal Committee is hosting a series of community conversations to inform the development of the Brewster Coastal Resources Management Plan. Each session will cover one of five management topics:

Sustaining public beaches and landings in the face changing shoreline conditions – May 17
Preserving healthy coastal wetlands – June 14
Providing access for water-dependent activities – July 19
Preserving public access to beach & landings – August 16
Protecting infrastructure, visual access, cultural & historical resources – September 13
All meetings will be held at 6 pm at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History, 869 Main Street Brewster.

The first meeting, Sustaining public beaches and landings in the face changing shoreline conditions, will examine the physical forces shaping Brewster’s coastal resources, and changes anticipated due to sea level rise and storm surge.

Greg Berman, Coastal Resources Specialist with the Barnstable County Extension and Woods Hole Sea Grant will provide an overview of coastal processes and how they affect Brewster’s shoreline. A facilitated discussion about management issues and alternative management actions will follow.

Information about the topics to be discussed at each meeting is available online at
