Interested in Engaging and Informing Your Neighbors?
The Brewster Community Network (BCN) wants to diversify our Steering Committee to better represent local residents of all ages and backgrounds as we engage and inform citizens, articulating issues of importance to our community. We also need a videographer, who can be a High School student interested in practicing media skills. Training is available at lower cape tv.
BCN is a volunteer organization with a mail list of over 400 subscribers. We organize public forums to share information and resources, aiming to increase helpful dialogue and understanding among residents, town officials, and other stakeholders. We also maintain this on-line presence and send out occasional alerts. Input from the community is always welcomed.
Steering Committee Volunteers meet periodically, on-line or in-person as needed. We discuss issues and program and identify topics for future forums. We then organize, promote, host, record and post our forums, which are also often broadcast on lower cape tv.
Full-time and seasonal residents interested in civic engagement and promoting helpful and balanced dialogue in a non-partisan way are needed.
